NEWS!!
Wow! It has been a long time since this was updated! Almost 6 months!!! Well, it is high time to getting my website up to speed again.
Let me first of all say a big “thank you” to each and every one of you that might have said even one prayer for me. I rely so much on the prayers of others on my behalf. This morning I read the Bible verse where Jesus said “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13). That is my goal, that the Father may be glorified through the answering of prayers and obedience to His calling in my life, just as He was glorified in the life of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
I had a good winter, and a great time with the family at home for Christmas. It was so nice to be back in Ohio. Last time i had been there was the previous Christmas, a year earlier. Not long after returning to Arkansas we were hit with a massive ice storm that left my town without power for the better part of a week. The damage was amazing. You can check out the pictures I took here. Thankfully none of Alpha Aviation's airplanes were damaged.
Once I got back from Ohio, I had a new idea of what steps I should take. Just because I have a Commercial Pilots License does not mean that I can go out and start working and earning hours and money. Flight experience is hard to come by for low hour pilots. I was in contact with a charter flight organization, and a mission flight group as well. After talking with the charter people, I knew it was not the right move. The mission organization is not taking on any staff at this time but sent an application that I can return and have put on file. I also am looking into and praying about a few other possibilities, all in Alaska. Alaska provides a lot of opportunities for pilots and especially those interested in missions, so I am looking into this.
In furthering my training. I am still looking into the need for a few more rating. Multi-Engine will be very important for the type of flying I will be doing in the future, and a Flight Instructor Rating will be necessary as well. Not only will it provide a means to earn hours without having the exorbitant cost of plane rentals (while training students), but it will also enhance my flying skills. I recently passed one of 2 written exams for the Flight Instructors rating. Still a long way to go, but moving forward feels great!
In the mean time, I have still be working full time at Wal-Mart. I have switched to a morning/early afternoon schedule to free up my evening for studies. Also I have been involved in local church ministry. The church I attend here in Arkansas is small, but has a thriving bus ministry. I have been giving the teens in a weekly Youth Sermon, and also assisting with the Sunday school hour. Out topic for the last few weeks has been the power of influences in our lives, and how WE are the ones that most often choose our own influences by (for example) the media and friends that we allow into our lives.
So, for this week I have looked into Multi-engine schools, worked on my website, and I will be studying on the next written exam, sending an e-mail to a missions group, preparing for Sunday’s lesson to the teens and joining them on a Friday night church event.
Please stop my my “BLOG” page and take a look some more of my thoughts, and by all means send off an e-mail or sign the guest-book to say hi!

Hello, thanks for visiting my site. I am a missionary pilot in training. My goal is to serve God through the venue of flight. I do not know where He will call me to do this, but I know it is His will for me. It is exciting to think of where this will take me in the years to come.

In August of 2006 I began my training. Ten weeks later I received my Private Pilots License, and in June of 2007 I received an Instrument Rating. Now I am continuing to work toward the ratings I will need on the mission field. I have them listed lower on this page:

What is Missionary Aviation?

Missionary Aviation is a support ministry. All across the world missionaries rely upon air support for their work. Missionary Pilots bring supplies like mail, medicine, personnel, food, and Bibles to remote areas. They are responsible for flying the missionaries themselves into the station, and injured or sick out to hospitals. In place like the Philippines, and Ecuador, a plane can make a trip over the mountains in minutes or hours that would take day on foot of by car. In Alaska, missionary pilots fly into the Eskimo villages that no roads even connect to. Almost every ministry relies on flight in some form.
